This blog is written/run by me, K. I’m a Floridian by birth and by circumstance (not so much by choice…), and love the outdoors in all of its forms.

I can even scrounge up appreciation for the most mosquito-infested parts of our naturally beautiful (but often sullied with over-developed and careless management) state!

I started this blog both to inspire myself to explore the parts of Florida I haven’t yet seen and–most importantly–to ensure I began instilling a love of history, ecology, zoology, botany, exploration, and exercise in my two kids.

I hope what I write here can inspire others to go out and explore, too, and to do our part in making sure that what makes our state beautiful and rare and precious (which is both its natural resources and the people who care for them and for others) can carry on.
