My name is Kristen, and I am the writer of this blog, parent to two young children, and creator of the not-so-original idea to tour some of Florida’s state parks and write of my experience(s) with them. My goal for 2024 is to visit one park a month–and have at least nine of those months be us visiting a new (to me) state park.

As you can guess, I’m located in (what I, at least, consider) the southern part of central Florida–the Tampa Bay Area. Restrictions on my state park visits will exist naturally due to that fact and the current reality that my youngest is still an infant and detests long car rides.

I love history; I love nature. I love my children and want them to have not just good memories, but experiences that provide the basis for them to grow into full, wonderful human beings. This blog is a way for me to document some of my effort in exposing them to our natural world and perhaps share what I find with others… who may in turn find something new, too.
